GCME Collaborates with Chulalongkorn University to Develop a Machine Learning Model for Predicting Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI), Enhancing Risk Management in Industrial Facilities

GC Maintenance and Engineering Company Limited (GCME) has partnered with Department of Metallurgical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, to develop a project titled “Data Analytics for a Machine Learning-based Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Predictive Model” under a Senior Project initiative. The collaboration aims to enhance inspection planning and corrosion risk management in industrial facilities through a more systematic and accurate approach.

This initiative builds upon GCME’s internally developed Machine Learning model for Predictive Corrosion Under Insulation. The Senior Project contributes to data enrichment by increasing both the volume and diversity of datasets used to train the AI model, improving its predictive accuracy and intelligence. The data utilized in this project is derived from GCME’s extensive knowledge base and field experience accumulated through real industrial services over many years.

In addition, GCME supports academic development by providing students with opportunities to participate in a Post Internship Program, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in real industrial environments. Students are involved in the full workflow—from data acquisition and field inspection to data analysis and engineering model development—bridging practical industry knowledge with academic learning.

This collaboration reflects GCME’s commitment to integrating engineering expertise, digital technology, and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop advanced solutions in Asset Integrity and Corrosion Management.
